At Whitwick St John the Baptist, Design and Technology (DT) prepares our children to take part in the development of a rapid changing world. DT allows children to use their creativity and imagination to be problem solvers, both as individuals and as part of a team.
Our Design and Technology (D&T) curriculum is based on the outcomes set out in the National Curriculum Programme of Study for Design and Techonology. We use a published scheme (The Design and Technology Association) to deliver our D&T curriculum. We have selected this scheme, as we believe it supports our vision, values and whole school drivers and ensures the subject is taught systematically and progressively.
A copy the national curriculum for D&T can be found below.
At Whitwick St John the Baptist, we believe Design and Technology allows children to use their creativity and imagination to be problem solvers and reflective learners, both as individuals and as part of a team.
Our pupils embark on a learning journey of designing, making and evaluating.
