Art and design
At Whitwick St John the Baptist, we believe that the Arts should be central to a well-rounded education.
Our Art curriculum is based on the outcomes set out in the National Curriculum Programme of Study for Art & Design. We use a published scheme (Kapow Primary) to deliver our Art & Design curriculum. We have selected this scheme, as we believe it supports our vision, values and whole school drivers and ensures the subject is taught systematically and progressively

Vision
At Whitwick St John the Baptist, we believe that Art & Design stimulates creativity and imagination.
Our pupils are provided with the skills to enable them to communicate what they see, feel and think.
Children are able to experiment with their ideas, with the experience of colour, texture, form, pattern and different materials to help create art pieces.

Mrs Peatling ensures that all the aspects of the Art & Design National Curriculum content and the use of ‘Kapow Primary’ scheme is taught and implemented effectively.
