Funding

Children are presently entitled to 15 hours of funding per week for 38 weeks, from the term following their 3rd birthday which is paid for by the government.

Parent’s Entitlement of Funding.

Three and four year olds in Leicestershire are entitled to 15 hours of free early learning and childcare funding per week for 38 weeks of the year. This equates to 570 hours per year. FEEE, Free Early Education Entitlement. was formally knows as Nursery Education Funding or NEF.

Parental Statement of Undertaking. (PSOU)

As a parent or carer you will be asked to complete a PSOU when your child becomes funded. Your child’s setting will provide you with this and will hold them with your child’s information in accordance with FEEE regulations. Parent’s must provide a copy of their child’s birth Certificate to their chosen setting to secure funding.

This form will make it clear to you what the government will pay for and what you, the parent, will pay for.

You will be asked to complete a new form at the beginning of each term and if your child changes the amount of hours they attend.

You can split your funding between more than one provider (Childminder and nursery etc) but any additional hours over your allocated 15 hours will need to be paid for.
